Nico has grown out of his harness and collar, so today he got new ones. The little dude currently weighs 37lbs. The Embark Vet DNA test predicted he would have an adult weight of 49lbs. It looks like he will be pretty close to that.
Nico has a good set of lungs on him and a couple of times a day he seems to enjoy listening to his own voice. I came out of my office area to say hi to him and he stayed a few feet back howling, barking, and making all kinds of noises. The funny thing is, if you can get close enough to him to pet him he will almost always immediately stop. At the same time, he doesn't like you to get close when he is vocalizing. He's quite the character.
Nico says, "Dad, I haven't seen you since 8:00 am and it's almost 10:00pm. I missed you very much and was very worried." I had a long day at work today and then was out most of the evening. Until this week I've been at home with Nico almost everyday since we rescued him. The tables are turning now though, Shelly is home with him and I'm off at work. Mixing it up is good for him in the long run, he'll respond better to new and different situations.
